You are invited to write a letter addressed to the Angel of the North. You can contribute to Dear Angel by attending the exhibition at Globe Gallery, Newcastle or by taking part in one of our participatory letter making sessions at Holy Island as part of the final weekend of Festival of the North East, at 36 Lime Street for Creative Ouseburn, or at the Angel's birthday party, Angel 15 , throughout June. Dear Angel will also be open to contributions in Durham during the Lindisfarne Gospels Cultural Programme

Russell Maurice
Russell Maurice’s newly commissioned wall painting connects the physicality of the gallery wall with the metaphysical aspects of the spirit world, concepts of ghosting and theories of the after-life. Inspired by ruins found near where he grew up at Colt Crag Reservoir in Northumberland, his indexical, abstract images explore ways in which he can re-enchant or mythologize contemporary reality.
